Who is a Film Director?
It is true that a filmmaking is not a one man job and requires a lot of men force from planning till the release of film. Different departments are responsible for different things in production of a film. But someone has to be in charge of everything. The sailor of the ship! This responsibility is taken by the director who is not only responsible for guiding the actors how to act but from the slightest of the things to the majors all falls under the directors supervision.
The director who inspires me not only with his styles of shooting and on what kind of scale he sets up for his movies, but also as a person on and off set. The attitude he carries despite of being in charge for the movies which cost millions of dollars and how down to earth he behaves with one of the finest actors of the industry. He is known for producing and directing the biggest movies in terms of scale and budget, Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

56 year old music director turned film director is known for his expertise in producing films based on historical events and fictional love stories. He has worked with actors like the king of Bollywood who is globally recognized Shah Rukh Khan and Amithabh Bacchan.

Bhansali never compromises on the scale (the size of the set, extras and other stuff which makes it a massive film). Bhansali’s directorial debut was “Khamoshi” which was a commercial hit in Indian box office 1996.
Throughout his career, Bhansali has only directed 9 movies from which all are commercially super hit which makes him one of the biggest and most successful director of Bollywood film industry.
Sanjay is fond of creating big dramatic scenes because of which he often uses Wide angle shots in his movies to create more drama.
As a director, Bhansali focuses on acting a lot! Unlike other directors Bhansali focuses on character development of his leading and supporting actors and provide them proper counselling before the camera rolls. One of his actors Ranveer Singh who played Alauddin Khilji a negative role in Padmaavat was seeking help to get over the character after the film got released.
These small things makes big difference Bhansali says.
Bhansali uses most advance equipment for shooting his films. He only prefers working with professionals and all the standards and demands he build throughout his career are worth quoting as a director!
